ANFT Nature & Forest Therapy Guide
Certified 2024 | ANFT Cohort #120
Gillian is a registered social worker, art therapist, and counsellor, and a certified Forest Therapy Guide. She believes that at the heart of healing is compassionate connection — being truly seen, heard, and held, especially in life's more tender moments.
For Gillian, forest therapy guiding is not about distance or exercise, but about presence — a gentle, sensory walk that invites us to slow down, listen, and simply be. It is giving space within ourselves to find rest, reflect, and reconnect. Without pressure or expectation.
She has always found healing in quiet spaces — in the company of trees, in the stillness of a forest, in the soft rhythm of walking without needing to arrive anywhere. Nature has been her anchor through many seasons of life, offering clarity when her mind felt heavy, and a gentle sense of belonging when she needed it most.
Gillian finds joy in meeting herself at different phases of life and hopes to see the same possibility emerge for all that she meets. She believes that all of us can encounter parts of ourselves freshly and differently at any turn of life — finally seeing ourselves wholly as we are, with kindness and love.
